THE EMPIRE.

BILI.IE BCKKE AND DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS SCORE BIG SUCCESS. Rattlesnakes, wolves, Indians with knives, aeroplanes and approaching trams have 110 terrors for Douglas Fairhanks, and ho keeps his sunny smile going under the most difficult- conditions. However, it comes off for a while in "Reggie Mixes In," now screening at the Empire, This fine Triangle film contains the real thing in screen, fights, and it is reported that the picture director got a profesional pugilist in on the sly to warm tilings up for the doughty Douglas. The drama is a good one, with a prettily interwoven love story full of flashes of romance, and th« long struggle for the aristocratic youngster and "the gangster, Tony Bernard, is full of thrill. Bessie Love is sweetly pretty as the heroine, and mfikes a dainty objective for all the hero's earnestness. But perhaps the interest of the programme lay in the second chapter of "Gloria's (Romance," in which tho charming Billie Burke appears as the central figure. In this story, ' Caught by the Seminolcs," the radiant Tiillie, lost in the forests of Florida, meets mitli some unusual adventures, which show up many new phases of her physical charms. She is rescued gy a young doctor in exciting circumstances, and the story hero takes 011 a most interesting .aspect. Xhe same programme will bo repeated to-night and to-morrow.
