AGAIN'ST CONSCRIPTION.

By Telegraph.—Press Association, Auckland, Last Nigh*. 'A charge of publishing seditious ut« terances in a pamphlet entitled "Men and Marbles" was made against Harry H. Urqohort, M.A., at the Polico Court to-day. The defendant pleaded guilty. The Crown Solicitor said the pamphlet yws a diatribe against conscription, but the defendant said he had nn t<te» except that of telling tho true teaching of Christ.

The Magistrate said he had no difficulty in deciding to convict, hut in view of defendant's obvious good character and obvious sincerity the question of penalty wag difficult. He- reserved hit decision.
