On Wednesday, March 28, we held our usual monthly sale at Te Wera, We have to report a very good yarding of cattle and sheep, and considering the dry Weather we had an excellent sale of cattle, but sheep were hard to quit. 20month to 2-year i.e. heifers, £4 ISs and £4 17s 6d to £5 10s; 3-year i.e. heifers £0 10s to £7 10s; 2-year steers, £8 10s to £9 10s; cows, i.e., £G Is to £7 15s; store cows, £0 to £8; 2-year m.t. heifers, £5 3s, £5 10s 6d to £8 8s; yearling steersy £5, £5 17s 6d to £7 10s; mixed weaners, £2 to £2 ss; s.h, bull, £7 17s Od. Weaner pigs, 7s 6d to 8a; | rams £3, Our next sale at Te Wera will be held on Friday, May 18. On Thursday, March 29, we held our usual monthly sale at Kohuratahi, when we have to report a good yarding of sheep, and a fair yarding of cattle. Wo quitted most of tlje sheep, but cattle were dull of sale. Store- cows, £8 18s; bulls £5 ss; heifers, calved, £7 ss; weaners £2 10s; 2-tooth wethers 325; lambs, medium, 13s Gd; f.m. ewes, 20s; 4-tooth ewes 355; 6-tooth to f.m. rams, 13, 2, 2} to 2£ guineas. Our next sale at Kohuratahi will, be held on Thursday, April 20, 1917. On Tuesday, (April 3, we held our usual fortnightly sale at our Stratford yards, and have to report a good yarding of cattle and a moderate yarding of sheel:. We had a very good sale, quitting most of the cattle and all the sheep. Store eows, poor and low conditioned, £3 17s, £4 18s, £4 19s to £5; fair to medium £7 2s Art to £8 2s Cd; 20-month steers £7 15s; fat cows £9 2s Gd, £lO Bs, £lO 12s fid to £l2 Is; weaner steer 3 £2 14s Od, £3 ss, £3 10s to £3 16s 6d; weaner heifers £2 3s Od, £2 0s Gd to £2 12s; springing heifers £7 7s Gd, £8 10s, £9 to £9 15s; ewes, cully, lis; lambs, medium, lis 3d. On Tuesday, April 5, we held our usual monthly sale at Tarata, and have to report a very good yarding of cattle, but owing to the proximity of the Easter holidays bidding was not at all spirited. Our next Tarata sale will bo held on Friday, May 4. On Tuesday, April 17, we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratforl yards. We had a good yarding of sheep and a small yarding of ,-attle, and had a very satisfactory clearance in both cattle and sheep.
