THE EMPIRE.
A WONDERFUL WORLD FILM. •THE SCARLET OATH.'' A story of Nihilists iand their dread councils, hairbreadth escapes, amazing adventures, and rapid-fire action, accurately describes the unique World film star, "The Scarlet Oath," screened on the change of programme at the Empire last night. Many and awe-inspiring are the varied scenes in "Wonderful Warsaw," where a considerable part of the picture plot is laid. As Olga Pavloff, a Russian girl who agrees to sell herself to the chief of police to save her father, beautiful Gail Kane excels, and both actress and picture rank with the World Film Company's previous great success, "Hearts in Exile." Supporting the star film is a splendid war edition of the Gaumont Graphic and a five-reel Famous i Players feature, "Silks and Satins," a delightful light romauce, in which Marguerite Clarke completely captivated the audience. The same, programme will be repeated to-night, and again at the matinee to-morrow afternoon, and for the lnet time to-morrow night. Children attending the matinee Saturday will b« presented with a photo of Billie Burke.
