BOWLING.

SHARP, STRATFORD'S CHAMPION. For two years Sharp lias been successful in winning'the singles championship in the Stratford club. The runnerup on thhj occasion was R. McK. Morison, who has also on a previous occasion ran into the finals with the present champion. The deciding match was played at Stratford on Thursday afternoon. The semi-finals were: Sharp boat C. Jackson, 21-12; Morison beat Loby 21—9; McMillan beat Beckerton, 21— 19; Jackson beat Fobv, 21—19; Foby beat King, 22-13; Foby beat McDonald, 22-13. The final game Attracted fair attention, and the play was closely watch, ed. It was early apparent that Sharp! had the measure of his opponent, who j made a big effort at the finish to reduce the lead. At the commencement Sharp | scored two at the first head, and two singles saw the fourth head open with a single to Morison. . T.lic next four heads saw Sharp add a single on each occasion, and then at the ninth head Morison scored a single,' making the board read Sharp 8, Morison 3. The next three heads saw Sharp score three more singles, and at the thirteenth head Morison added one, making Sharp Jt, Morison 4. Sharp scored again in the 14th and Morison gained a single, the figures then being, Sharp 13, Morison 5. Sharp was holding a big lead, his drawing being particularly gpod, whilst he drove effectively' when necessary. The total favored him by 1C to 5 at the 17th head. In the remianing play lie brought his total to 21 and Morison 10, the issue never being in doubt. At the conclusion of the play the winner received three hearty cheers on hiß excellent all-round play, whilst tne vanquished runner-up was also congratulated .on the good fight he put up.
