MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. (From Our Own Correspondent). Eltliam, April 20. The first shot in the Mayoral warfare will be fired to-night, when Mr. Crump, who is contesting the Mayoralty against the present Mayor (Mr. Dive), will lay before the burgesses the reasons why he solicits their support. The scene of action is the Town Hall, and already ardent followers of each candidate are bese-iging neutrals to ascertain where their sympathies lie. No less than 13 have been nominated for the 0 seats round the council table. Ex-councillors seeking re-election • areMessrs G. W. Taylor, ,T. Ballantyne, 11. S. Carman, L. Hill, H. H. Judd, R. C. Lightbournc and M. A. Whitcford, whilst new aspirants for the honors are: Messrs A. Beesley, W. Clarry, J. W. Hawkc, L. Nairn, C. 11. White'and A. 10. Smalley.
