FARMERS' FEDERATION.
CO-OPERATIVE COMPANY FORMED. By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Wellington, April 1!). A conference representing the various fanners' co-operative associations in Xow Zealand was heir! at Wellington this week finally to fix the details of the formation of a Farmers' Co-oper-ative Wholesale Federation of Xew Zealand, Ltd. It was decided to register the company immediately. The nominal capital was fixed at present at £IOO,OOO, while the aggregate nominal capital subscribed by the associations is nearly three millions sterling. With regard to capital, it is not with the idea of controlling . the board or the general associations »nn? the federation itself should embark upon ventures involving large capital responsibilities, but rather that it should become a niertjum of inauguration. The federation is confined to genuinefarmers' co-operative associations and companies in which the majority of their members are farmers actually engaged directly or in any subsidiary branch of farming or in any industry allied thereto. It has been decided to confine, the initial work to such activities as will most eU'cetivoly assist the shareholder associations and companies in their major operations, both in regard to imports and exports. The fedcatrion will also collect commercial data of all kinds, concerning British and other markets, and secure and manage Dominion, llritisli and foreign agencies of lines of intercut to the various a-sociations.
