This year the Dominion Dairy Show included in their schedule classes for pasteurised and unpnsteurised cheese to he "taken haphazard from the grading stores, as directed hy the winter allow committee, from cheese made during the month of March, and it is very gratifying to know that a liberal support has fccen given by the factories in theae two classes, the secretary informing me today that he had received 32 entries.
At a meeting of tho Tradesmen's Association on Friday afternoon it was decided to celebrate Anzac Day on Wednesday, and not on Monday, as recommended by the Government. A united service is to bo held in the afternoon, after which the Anzac Club is to be opened by his Worship the Mayor (Mr. Dixon). The secretary of the Patriotic Guild is advised by the Under-Secretary for Internal Affairs that no further parcels addressed to specific men should be sent for transport as hitherto, but should be sent through the post office in the ordinary way.
The usual Farmers' Co-op autumn horse fair commenced at Hawera. yesterday. A good stamp of horses is being offered, but prices could be better. The fair is beirg continued to-day. Mrs Bashford received a cable message from her husband to-day, saying that he was wounded on the arm, and ; s progressing favorably. Commissioner and Mrs Hoddcr, of the Salvation Army, are spending the week end in Hawera.
