INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent). The Inglewood Patriotic Committee has decided to celebrate Anzac Day It is proposed to hold a meeting in the Town Hall, where addresses and musical items will constitute the programme. The annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce was held in Messrs Percival and Messenger's office on Wednesday owning, Mr. Percival (president) prosiding. The report and statement of accounts proved that the committee had been very active during their term of office; several matters of interest to the district had been attended to with most satisfactory results. The election of office bearers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Mr. Percival; vice-president, Mr. G. Hutton; secretary nnd treasurer, Mr. Messenger; committee, Messrs Coldwell, de Launay, Spurdle, Surrey, Winfield, McLean and J. Sutherland. The usual honorarium was voted to the secretary.
Despite the fact that unfavorable weather prevailed on Thursday, a large crowd journeyed to Tar'ata for the dog trials, and, as usual, experienced a most enjoyable outing. Considerable satisfaction is expressed locally at the appointment, of Mr. Stratford, late headmaster of the school, to the position of headmaster of the Central School. Mr. Strnf.'iTd was always a conscientious and painstaking master, and particularly successful, and is deserving of congratulations on Ms wellearned promotion.
