CHARGE OF PERJUEY.

'( In the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr. Justice Hosking, the hearing of the. perjury charges against the Buaites vu Continued, Tioke Hakarapare being 1 charged with committing perjury by swearing that Constable Skinner was t-«i man who fired the first shot at Manngapohatu, and that lie fired the said shotj from a revolver point blank at Rua. Mr. Mays appeared for the Crown, and (he prisoner, who pleaded not guilty, was represented by Mr. Lundon.
The'evidence was practically the same as adduced at the previous hearing. At 2..10 foreman of the jury intimated to his Honor that the jury wished to express their disapproval of irrevelant questions, and that they were, heartily sick ol listening to matters not) in the issue.
Senior Sergeant Cassells was In th« box five and a half hours, and some live* l.v interchanges took place between wit* ness and Mr. Lundon.
