PATRIOTIC WORK.
RED CROSS MART. The mart did excellent business on Saturday under the control of the Red Cross workers, with help from some ladies from Smart Road. Tim sum of £55 Ss 7d was realised. The winners in the various guessing competitions were as follows:—Coffee tray, Mrs Bnrtlev; lettor cane, Mrs C. E. Baker; duck, Mr? Drover; sponge bag, Miss Lucy Knight; preserved beans, Mrs F. N. 'Grayling; Persian eat (Piaster egg surprise), Mr spiro; smaller Easter egg, Mr Fairbrothor; ham, Mrs Scallyj iced cake, Mrs l'enn. The mart will next Saturday ba under the management of the Mayoress and her committee. On Saturday the 21st it will be organised by the Omata and Moturoa ladies, and on the 28th bv tho Girls' Friendly Society.
