TAEANAKI FAIRS TOURNAMENT. The Easter Pairs Tournament under the auspices of the Taranaki Bowling Centre, which is being held t-lus year on the Inglewood and Stratford greens, was commenced yesterday under favorable weather conditions, and will be continued to-daj!. the semi-finals and finals being played on Monday on the Inglewood green. Section play consists 'Of 17 heads, and any section ties will be 11 heads, the final to be 21 heads. The games played yesterday resulted as follow: SECTION A (Stratford Green), First Round. E. The rink representing Stratford, and skipped by Sharp, at the Palmerston, North tournament, went through the first day of the section play without a loss. They defeated Abbott (Fitzroy) 22—15; Henderson (Te Horo, Wellington) 31—9; Follett (Terrace End) 20—17.
