CIVIL SERVANT'S CASE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, April 4. Before the Military Service Board the Commissioner of Taxes appealed on behalf of a senior officer, one of six whose services were essential lor the training of juniors and the supervision of their work. Out of a staff of 82 12 had gone on active service, and of the remainder 30 were untrained cadets and girls. Five' of the six senior men left were engaged on 'assessment work, and one on book keeping. So great had been the prossure of duties that they had been working overtime since last duly. The case was adjourned sine die.
