THE KARUThe Karu .left Westport on Friday evening for ' New Plymouth, and was expected here yesterday. The Union Steamship Company has, however, received advice that the vessel put into Nelson, and will probably, therefore, not arrive till to-morrow. ,'■

THE POHERUA. Tho Poherua is to leave Lyttelton on Tuesday or Wednesday, bringing general cargo to New Plymouth. The vessel will call in at Picton, arriving here about Friday.

THE ROSAMOND. The Rosamond was to have sailed from Wellington for New Plymouth on Saturday night, but owing to the shortage of labor in Wellington it will probably be to-night before the vessel will get away.

PUTHiI AND HUIA. At the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, says the Dominion, Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., offered for sale on' behalf of the liquidator of the Wellington and Wanganui Steam Packet Company the steamers Putiki and Huia. The Putiki (433 tons), built'in 1904, was first offered, but there was no bid for her. The Huia, built in 1878, a vessel of 97 tons, drew a bid of £25, which' was increasel to £SO, and withdrawn. There was a fair attendance, but those present were apparently more spectators than speculators. , ,
