THE ARAHURA COLLISION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The hearing of the evidence was concluded at the inquiry into the collision between the Arahura and the Home liner, and after argument had taken place, the Court reserved its judgment. A SHIRKER OOURT-MARTIALLED. Auckland, List Night. Thomas McGee, a member of the Expeditionary Force, was court-martiallcd on a charge that on March 1 he, without having a permit, and with intent to evade military service, attempted to leave New Zealand on the steamer Kurow, which was about to leave for Newcastle, McGee pleaded guilty, and pleaded for a chance in camp to prove he was not an abandoned renegade. The Court nnnmmced that the sentence would be known after its confirmation by the officer coiumandimr the district. " . KILLING A SHEEP. Auckland, March 27. William Reid, a fisherman at Flat Island, Hauraki Quit, pleaded not guilty to a charge of killing a sheep with intent to steal tlio carcase. He was committed for trial. CARPENTERS' DISPUTE. Auckland, March 27. The Arbitration Court to-day commenced the hearing of the «carpentera' and joiners' dispute. The president intimated that the Court might consider it advisable to hear evidence at other centres, with a view to making a Dominion award. THREE YEARS' GAOL. Wesport, March 27, In the Supreme Court, Arthur Georgr Holmes, charged with indecent assault on a girl aged five and a-half years, was sentenced to three years' imprisonment, lie pleaded guilty.
