EVERYBODY'S.
FINAL SCREENING TO-NIGHT OF "THE PERILS OF DIVORCE." The problem play is becoming a feature of the picture screen. In fact, screen sermons, as they might be called, are becoming the rage, and it is a question whether the clergy will soon be able to grant their patronage to the pictures, which they have looked at askance for so long. ."The Perils of Divorce,'' now being screened at Everybody's Theatre, is a powerful presentment of the mischief that may be done by making divorce easy. At the same time it clearly shows how unendurable married life may be if one of the partners is jealous. In the story John Graham is shown as a quiet, settled character, who is married to a youn» girl They have one child, on whom they lavish a wealth of affection. But although love may be as strong as death, jealousy is as cruel as the grave. An adventuress, Alice Lorraine, comes ser-pent-like into this domestic eden, and poisons the happiness of the wedded pair. Trifles light as the air are to the jealous strong as the holy writ. Graham falls a victim to the promptings of the green-eyed monster, and the home is broken up, leaving nothing but tile ashes of dead hopes on the hearth. Separation and misery blight the lives of Graham and his wife, before the man realises that the latter has been faithful. The play is a powerful one. containing more than one moral, and is well acted. Other films include.a smart Jungle comedy, in which a super-monkey rejoicing in the name of Napoleon, plays the lending part. There will be a complete change of programme to-morrow.
