CONTINUED AT HAMILTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, March 22. At the Supreme Court to-day the trial was continued of Tahn Hirawar.p, charged with perjury. Tin; evidence was practically the same as at the Rua .trial. Constable Skinner described how Puke.puke pointed a gun at him. There was no similarity in appearance of Pukepuke and Tuhoa. Accused (Tahn) had sworn at the Pukepuke trial that when 'Pukepuke picked up the gun he (Skinner) had gone up tlie-Gisborne track. Corroborative evidence of Constable Skinner's statement was given by Constables Maisey, OJatward. Shearman, and Government Ranger Cobblediek. Considerable argument again ensued regarding the question of revelancy, Mr, Mays p-roesting against the line of questions put by Mr. Lundon. His Honor upheld the .protests bv Mr Mays. Mr. Lundon said he had never attempted to prove that Skinner/was not there; in fact, they had always maintained not only was Skinner there, but that he was the principal and central figure of the whole busine.-s. vj His Honor: But your man (accused) says Skinner was not there when the Pukepuke picked up the gun. Mr. Lundon alleged the police hat! made a mistake in the identity of Puke puke and Tuhoa. His Honor declined to permit the present line of cross-examination to proceed. The case would take a fortnight At the conclusion of the evidence, counsel addressed the jury. Mr. Lundon's address lasted some hvo hours. His Honor sums up in the morning.
