THE EMPIRE
MARY PICKFORD'S MOST CHARMING PICTURF « "THE ETERNAL GRIND." Mary Pickford, the delight of all classes of picture goers, has never appeared to better advantage than as a work girl in a "sweated' shirt factory, her character in "The Internal Grind," finishing a successful three-night season at the Empire to-night. All the quaint humor of this dainty little lady is brought to the front in the many and varied scenes of the picture. Her home life is just what one would expect, and yet just what delights her audience, her quaint mannerisms and command over her elder sisters, whom she endeavors to keep to the straight and narrow path, completely win the onlooker right in the first thousand feet of the story. Right throughout the film she is just "our Mary" the secret of her millions of admirers throughout the civilised world. Those picture patrons, who have not viewed this picture should not miss the opportunity to-night of seeing the queen of all picture stars in what will probably rank as her greatest success. TO-MORROW MATINEE AT 2 p.m.
There will be the usual matinee tomorrow when a complete change of programme will be screened, including "The Surf Girl," one of the greatest comedy screams ever seen in this town. The star of the programme is a Triangle star, featuring Will S. Hart and Louise Glaum, entitled "The Return of Draw Egan," being a stirring tale of life in the rough border towns of Western America. This big star selection will be screened for Saturday at the matinee and night only.
