NEARING ST. QUENTIN.
CHASING ENEMY PATROLS. Received March 21, 0.20 p.m. > London, March 21. A French •communique states: Between tlie Somrae and the Aisne our troops made fresh progress, and are proceeding to occupy the re-conquered zone. Our cavalry north of the Somme advanced as far as the outskirts of Roup; seven kilometres from St. Quentiii where they gave chase to the enem> cavalry patrol. North-east of Chauny our fnfantry occupied Tergnier and crossed the St- Quentin canal. Som.? lively skirmishes with enemy detachments terminated to our advantage.
