THE EMPIRE.

CLARK AND ROBERT WARWICK. ______ l There was again in evidence a vcrv animated scone at the Empire last night. Ticket sellers and ushers were kept going at full pressure attending the apparently endless, stieam of patrons all eager to secure the best seals. Responsible for the extra crush was the announced screening of two bis star films: Marguerite Clark in a five-reel Famous pavers' feature. "Mollv Make Believe,'' and Robert Warwick in a Brady-World film, 'Friday, 18th.-' The famous film presented the popular Marguerite Clark in one of her most bewitching mood*. ''Molly Make Beiieve" is a delightfully fanciful romance which treats on entirely new ground, and its hall-mark of originality was much appreciated by the large audience present. One scene of outstanding merit in this production is "the coming of spring." Tt would be indeed difficult to conjure up anything more delicate, artistic, and fascinating than this item, whiuh is truly a. masterstroke of genius.' Altogether, "Molly Make Believe" is a picture worth going a long way to see. The other film, "Friday, 13th," is from the pen of millionaire-author Thos. W. Lawson. The action of the story all takes place in the neighborhood of Wall Street, and the film in realistic scenes of the huge gambling indulged in bv the brokers and speculators of that' busy market. No mercy is shown towards the shady and dcviotis'metliods employed by the followers of "high finance," and the film is a great showing-"iip of the underhand ways in which many of the big U.S.A. fortunes have been made. The picture brings vividly before us real scenes of New York, 'and it is claimed that seeing the film is as good an a trip to Wall Stieet, only not so expensive. Robert Warwick is well fitted as the hero, and his love-making is splendid. The same programme will be repeated again to-night and to-morrow.
