A meeting of the Jersey Breeders' Association was held on Saturday afternoon. Present: J. J. Petersen (chairman), S. Ga-Jsbr, E. O'Sullivan, A. Huggett, J. D. Cle'mow, TV. Viekers', TV. Col«, .T. T. Belcher, D. O'Sullivan and A. D. Stanley. The secretary of the association is to be requested to inform the branch of the remit? that were carried at the last annual meeting have been given effect to. The monthly meeting of the Domain Board was held on Friday afternoon. Present: G. N. Curtis (chair), P. Thomson, T. H. Penn, R. McK. Morrison, and TV. Kirkwood, The cha'rman and Mr Morrison were instructed to inspect the boundary fence between Dr Paget anil the domain on the Brecon Road, and report. The secretary was instructed to collect rent of croquet grounds ( £3 3s). J A great deal of hostile comment was made at the spectacle of a hypnotist youth pedalling a fixed bicycle in a window in a shop in Broadway. The 'dd was in racing attire, ,and although the exhibition was not pleasing, there was a crowded 'footpath of sightseers gazing on the bewildered youth. The opinion was freouenl'y expressed that the police should stop such exhibitions. In certain directions hypnotism may be all right, but the sorry exhibition referred to was neither edifying nor satisfying to the public. The lad was supposed to have kept pedalling till' /.30, but Sergeant Dale interfered (the lad's mother objecting), so the hypnotised lad was awakened, and the blinds drawn down on the exhibition. The Salvation Army have received a cheque of £5 In from the Cardiff Dairy Company, which will be placed to the Army's patriotic funds. Mr T. A. Lonergan, dentist, has a professional notice in this issue. He has taken premises in the municipal buildings, and installed the most up-to-the-moment appliances. Mr R. Masters has declined to accept a position on the Board recently set up in connection with the National Efficiency Board. To attend to the details in a thorough manner would encroach too much on his time. Mr Masters leaves for the Ohura district on Monday on educational matters, and expects to be away till Friday, Troopers E. Clark, of Wanganui, whose parents are well known in the district, and L. C. Oliver, of Stratford, have been mentioned in despatches. Both have been wounded—at El Arish—with the same bullet, and both have made a good recovery. Contractors are notified by advertisement that the Stratford County Council invite tenders up to March 21, for the supply of tenders and shell rock. The public are usually keen judges of value, hence it is no surprise to record that there has been a steady demand for the ladies' handbags now being offered at C. E James' fancy goods warehouse. Low prices and good quality leather is a combination hard to beat. y
