CROQUET.
STRATFORD v. HAWERA, The lady members of the Stratford Croquet dub paid a visit to Hawera on Tuesday and played a match with the lady members of the local club. The weather was perfect, and a most enjoyable day was spent. The local courts , were very fast, but not as true as they have been in previous seasons, and this made play very difficult, and more especially so* for the visitors. The scores were as follow, Stratford being mentioned first hi each case: — Doubles.—Mrs. King and Mrs. Boon 10, v. Mrs. Morris and Mrs. Bennett 28; Mrs. Moon and Mrs. Hiera 23, v. Mrs. Suisted and Miss 'Power, 23; Mrs. Reader and Mrs. Purcell 10, v. Mrs. Black and Mrs. Sutton 18; Mrs. White and Mrs. Lawrence 12, v. Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Janscn 2S. Totals: Stratford C 4, Hawera 112. Singles.—Mrs. King 7, v. Mrs. Marris 2S; Mrs. Boon 2G v. Mrs. Bennett 28; Mrs. White 28 v. Mrs. Campbell 11; Mrs. Lawrence 3, v. Mrs. Jansen 28; Mrs. Moon 17 v. Mrs. Suisted 13; Mrs. Riera 9, v. Miss "Power 7. Totals: Stratford 90, Hawera 115. The two last-named singles were unfinished, and two games were not played.—Star.
