VXmOX WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. London, March 3. The . Government wool offered was 23,500 bales, appraised but not offered 10,000 bales, free offerings 5-2,500 bales, The Government reserved 17,500 bales and requisitioned 10,000 bales. The trade bought 58,500 bales. There was a large attendance throughout, and the demand widened and strengthened as the sales progressed. Merinos touched the highest on record. Good combing generally advanced 5 per cent, above January rates, short and fault carbonising sorts advanced 10" per cent., and good scoured sto 7 1 / 2 per cent. Crossbred* were almost entirely withdrawn for the Government contractors, at prices not yet disclosed. Lamb 3 advanced 10 per cent.
