Only iiiul) was offered by the Department, and as the Education Board has no means of making up the difference, a deadlock was reached. The Mayor (Mr, C, H. Burgess) local members of Parliament, and members of the Education Board have been invited to to-night's meeting, and the whole question will be discussed with a view to bringing influence to bear on the Department to increase the offered grant to cover the cost of purchasing the additional ground.
