POWER OF ALLIES' ARTILLERY.
PRAISED BY GERMANY. Rome, March 4. A wireless message states that tha German papers admit the extraordinary power of the new British and French artillery. A REPORT WITH AN OBJECT. Geneva, March 4. The Gazette de Lausanne says that the German Staff anticipates a French offensive in Alsace. It professes to expect a French violation of Swiss territory via Damvant, Porrentruy, and Charmoville, for the purpose of executing a turning movement. The German Alsatian (rentier is now a mass of fortifications, ajid every farm and village is full of soldiers. REPATRIATING DEPORTEES. Amsterdam, March 4. The Echo de Beige says that a thousand deported Belgians have hcen repatriated. They are emaciated and ex hausted. There were six deaths on the homeward journey, and several have been removed to hospitals. ADVANCE NEAR PERONNE. The British front has been extended to Roye. (Roye is about 18 miles south of Peronne.) SUCCESSFUL TRENGH- WORK. Louden, March 3 A French communique reports: We successfully Immharded enemy organisations north of the Aisne, on tlja left of the Meuse.
