THE COAL OUTPUT.

THE "GO-SLOW" POLIO'S. The Government at present is up against a difficult problem in regard to the coal output. The miners throughout the Dominion have apparently adopted the "Go-Slow" Policy, and in soim of the, principal mine has been reduced by at least one-third, in spite of the fact that the same number of men is employed. All users of coal are expecting a shortage of supplies, and increased cost, and some firms are taking steps to provide substitutes in case of a complete stoppage. The Gas and Electric Light Companies are always the first to feel the effect of any interruption in the coal supply, as was the e.iie in Sydney recently when the city was in darkness for several nights. In the event of a coal strike in New Zealand many tciulry people would be better off so far as house and shop lighting is concerned than the City dwellers, as during tue past two years over 2000 country hoir.es and stores have been fitted witli "Y.b. ard Lighting Systems." The "Wizard Light" is being generally adopted for house and store lighting in all country districts, and the N.Z. Agents, Messrs. Early Bros., find it difficult to keep pace with the demand. This light is cheaper, cleaner, and better in quality than Coal (las, and users are independent of labor troubles. The lamps produce, gas from a mixture of !)7 per cent, air and 3 per cent, benzine vapor, and provided a ease of benzine is kept in reserve, labor troubles cannot interfere with the owner of a "Wizard" Plant so far as his house or store lighting is concerned. Messrs. Early Bros., 8!) Cuba Street, Wellington, will be pleased to supply full particulars of the "Wizard" Light. which is being used extensively by the N.Z. Government, Banks, Schools, Colleges, Institutes; Churches, Halls, Stores, Homes, and Buildings of all sorts in the Dominion.—G2o.
