Now we get a sort of erratic deluge daily, The advantages to be derived from taking one's partivs into complete confidence was fully illustrated at the meeting of shareholders held recently at the Patua factory, A certain point, which threatened to be a veritable little rift within the lute was so clearly dealt with by the directors and so lucidly explained by Mr. Cruickshank that the shareholders, both individually and collectively, wended their way homeward with a feeling akin to peace, perfect peace. A letter under the nom de plume of "Bush Woman" appeared in the News recently and among other casual items the writer stated "there was a terrible outcry made by the women who were sending their sons to the front." Now, I haven't heard any "outcry," One of my neighbors has' given two out of three sons, but she doesn't cry out; another, whose son died a hero's death, deeply mourns his sad end, but never a bitter word do his sorrowing parents utter; yet another has three bonny sons '•'somewhere in France," still that mother is outwardly calm; and my nearest
