A THIRD QF AREA DTY. I
Reuter Service. Received Feb. 22, i 0.15 p.m. Washington, Feb. 21. The Senate passed a bone-dry amendment prohibiting shipments of iiquor into the States already having prohibition. This makes absolutely dry fifteen more States which now allow the importations of liquor in limited quantities, and a total of twenty-two States, comprising one-third of the area of United States, are hereafter "absolute!'' dry. This is the first stop that has ever been taken by the Federal Government to exercise control over liquor in the States.
