Aft the instance of tfie Minister of Indus-* tries and Commerce the Board of Trada, members of which are at present in Auckland, negotiated with the parties «tth a view of endeavouring to effect a net" llement yesterday, and as the result ot these negotiations the employees and men signed an agreement to refer «H matters in dispute to the Labor Disputes investigation Act, 1913, Mayor G$UMt consenting to act as chairman.
