THE HAWKE'S BAY SEAT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hastings, Feb. 10. The wonderful achievements of quickchange artists are nothing as compared with the rapid reversal of things now occurring in connection with the Hawke's Bay election. Mr. A. E. dull to-day informed the press that lie would be willing to accent nomination for the Hawkes Bay seat if requested by a representative body of electors. It appeared iinpoMblc that a Liberal candidate acceptable to both sides should be selected, but those responsible for the selection now speak much more hopefully of being able to make such an acceptable choice, and, in order not to prejudice their efforts, he (Mr. Jul!) wishes his friends not to wait upon him to urge his candidature. x Interviewed regarding this new development, the Hon. Mr. MaeDonald stilted that before leaving Hastings for Wellington this morning Sir John Find lay gave him an assurance that he would place himself in the Minister's hands in regard to the selection of a candidate for the vacant scat, but, added the Minister, nothing will be made known until after the convention of delegates this evening. Mr. Jull has'also given the Minister a free hand.

Mr. Mac Donald said he had seen Mr. Mason Chambers in Wellington, and had been informed bv him that the Reform League would adhere to. the arrangement already made.
