MEETING AT ELTHAM The ordinary meeting of the Loyal Eltham Lodge took place at the Lodge Room on Thursday when some forty members, including visitors from Itaponga, Manaia, Oxford Lodge (Canterbury), and Stratford Lodges were present. N.G. Bro. Hodgen presided. The District Officers, P.G.M. (Bro. C. Allen), D.P.G.M. (Bro. T. Lawson) and the Corresponding Secretary (Bro. C. E Bellringer) paid their annual visit to the Lodge, and received a cordial welcome, and the honors of the Order. The officers spoke oh various matters in connection with the working of the Order and the matters to come up for consideration at the annual meeting to be held at Kaponga on March 15. During the evening, P.G. Bro. Nuttall presented P.G. Bro. ,T Phillips with a Past Grand Emblem, on the fulfilment of his term of office. The i-ecipient suitably returned thanks. Tlie District Officers spoke in complimentary terms of the valuable services rendered to the Eltham Lodge by the secretary (Bro. Papps). Visiting members and brethren of the Eltham Lodge also spoke in eulogistic terms of his endeavor to promote the welfare of his Lodge and Oddfellowsliip as a whole. Bro. Papps thanked all for the kind references made. Two new members and four honorary members were received into the Order, the initiation being carried out by the District Ollicers. Several trophies were promised to the Lodge for competitions to be decided by the Lodge. At the conclusion of Lodge business, the members retired to Eeilly's rooms, where they were entertained by the Loyal Eltham I,odge.—Post.
