REDUCED EMPLOYEES OR INCREASED FARES, Received Feb. 18, 8.35 p.m. Sydney, Feb. 13. The Railway Commissioner told a deputation that, owing to the scarcity of loan money and the higher cost of material, together with the continually increasing wages, they were faced either with reducing the number of employees or increasing fares. TO ASSIST THE WAR LOAN. Received Feb. 13, 8.35 p.m. Hobart, Feb. 12. With a view to assisting the War Loan, the Recruiting Committee is seeking to induce Tattorsall's to pay sweep prizes over £lO in War Loan .bonds.
