CONSPIRACY TRIALS POSTPONED. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. London, February 7. The Lloyd George conspiracy trial has been postponed, and it is understood that it: will 'be transferred to the Old Bailey. AUSTRALIAN POLITICS, 'Melbourne, February S, A meeting of the joint committee of Liberals and Ministerialists appointed to adjust matters connected ivith the political fusion reached no finality, FEDERAL EXPENDITURE. Melbourne, Feh. 8. The Treasury report for the half-year ending December 31 shows a heavy inciease in expenditure, £49,870,510, as against £28,500,000 for the same period in 1915. War expenditure paid from loan money rose from £4,300,000 to £20,030,331. ALLEGED MILITARY FRAUDS. Sydney, February S. Howell Price has been committed for trial, bail being refused. Accused's counsel said that the case had dwindled from ,£0(1,000 to about £9200, only £450 being unaccounted for.
