INTERESTING PICTURE SALE.
EXHIBITION IN DEVON STREET. A sale of a collection of pictures, mos: of which are by the well-known artist, Mr J. Douglas I'errett, will be conducted by Messrs Webster Bros., auctioneers, on Tuesday afternoon next, in the premises recently occupied by the Red Cross Society. The catalogue' contains 47 oil paintings, pastels, water colors, fine art reproductions, and Mozart oil facsimiles. In the paintings, which are now on publie view, lovers of the picturesque will find plenty to attract them. Mr. Perl'ttfs pictures illustrate the grandem and loveliness of many New Zealand scenes. Notable among the views arc those entitled, "Rocks and Sea," "Lake Kanieri," "Early Morning, Queen Charlotte Sound," "Evening of a Grev Day, Lake Te Anau," ''Harrison's Cove, Milford Sound," ami "On the Wanganui River." Mr. Perrett's collection will well repay examination. A rare opportunity will be afforded local residents of securing some of these attractive paintings, which are being offered at auction absolutely without reserve.
