CHILDREN'S FLOWER SHOW.
AT VOGELTOWN. There was a good attendance at tlio annual sweet .pea show in connection with the Vogeltown Methodist Sunday School, which took place on Thursday evening. Mr. J. Gibson acted as judge, and was particularly impressed with the marked improvement in ttie quality of the blooms when compared with those, exhibited at the first show. Mrs. T. fioulton made a special exhibit, including a fine collection of dahlias and other blooms. Miss Tooke also decorated a table for exhibition, 'whilst Miss Avann had a general display of cut blooms. The prize-winners in the competitive classes were as follows: Three stems each oi three varieties: Joyce Short 1, Clinton Griffiths 2, Con. Staples 3. Three stems each of six varieties: Clinton Griffiths 1, Con. Staples 2. " Three stems each of twelve varieties: Clinton Griffiths 1. Three stems of one variety: Clinton Griffiths 1 and champion vase, Con. Staples 2, Muriel Benton 3. Twelve stems of one variety: Clinton Griffiths 1. Three stems each of three varieties (children under eight years): ICeitha Bonlton 1, Clinton Griffiths 2. Three stems each of six varieties: Clinton Griffiths 1, Keitha Boulton 2. Button-holes (girls under 10): Keitha Boulton 1, Jovce Short 2, Maisie Short 3. Button-holes (girls over 10): Olive Noble 1, Muriel Benton 2. Button-holes (bovs under 10): Nui Xnhle I. John Scott 2. Basket of sweet peas, arranged for effect: Keitha Boulton 1, Con. Staples 2. Collection of flowers, arranged in vases for effect: Bertie Hooker 1, Violet Hooker 2: special prize, Con. Staples. Decorated ta'ble: Myrtle Noble 1, Alma Short 2.
