WELLINGTON APPEALS. : By Telegraph.—P""- Association. Wellington, Jan. 30 At the Military Service Board, the difficulties under whiui the slaughtering trade is being worked owing to the shortage of labor were emphasised by tl e secretary of the Slaughtermen's Union. In one case the proprietors of the n'eat works actually p.-id the fares or slaughtermen from Melbourne to Sydney. Sydney to Wellington, and Wellington to Wanganui. The Board statc-d that the military representative suggested that rill shearers desiring exemption should make a personal application. If they continued work in necessary industries between seasons he would be quite satisfied. The Board decided to adjourn all the shearers' cases for fourteen days, and summon individuals to attend personally The chairman said he did not want to allow shearers to be at large for so long as the period existing between, the shearing seasons.
