DROWNED WHILE BATHING.

Foxton, Jan. 20 Daniel Raffrrly, a single man. aged 3* years, was drowned while batliin" in the Manawatu river at Montoa yesterday morning. The' police recovered t!:e b'.dy during the afternoon. At the inquest tliis morning a verdict was ,» turned of accidental death by drownina. The deceased came from Melbourne and was employed at the Whitnmii flaxmill.
FATAL FALL FROM WINDOW
Gisborne, Jan/ 20. Thomas Jones, 40, trainer of Hastings, fell from n bedroom window in n hotol and sustained injuries from which he died.
WOMAN BURNED TO DEATH. Auckland, Jan. 29. Bessy Schmidt, a widow, aged CO vears, was burned to death at 1.30 this morning in a fire which partly destroyed the house in which she lodged.
