MART COMMITTEE'S CLAIMS.
As an outcome of llhe discussion which took place at the annual meeting of tho Red Cross .Society last Monday evening anent the amounts which Should bo properly credited' to the Red Cross Mart Committee in the Society's bal-ance-sheet, the investigation committee appointed (Messrs A. 11. Johnstone, W. C. Weston, K. E. Beil and A. B. Gibson) has reported as follows: "In accordance with tho resolution passed at the annual meoting of the British Red Cross Society we have examined the receipts for moijies paid to the Society's funds by the Red Cross Mart, anil find that the total sum paid during the year ended December 31, lillfi, amounted to £1)79 ISs 3d/ Of this sum only £30.) was 'directly credited to the Mart in the published statement of receipts and expenditure In order that the Mart 'may have full credit for its collections, we recommend that a footnote 'be appended to the statement of receipts and'expenditurc in the following form: Memo.—ln addition to the sum of £sßu mentioned above, a further sum of £474 ISs 3d (making a total of £t)79 18s 3d) was collected by the Red Cross' Mart during the year. This sum of £474 18s 3d is included in the receipts under various other headings."
