Skogliind, Town Clerk, lias returned from his holidays, spent in Wellington ami Nelson. A well-known resident here, Mr. Jaa. Rutherford, who is 03 years* of age, is in camp on home service. In his boyhood Mr. Rutherford was farrier-ser-geant in the Royal Dragoons, and has once more heard the (all. His object in enlisting again is to allow those younger and more active to get to the front, whilst he does his best in the Dominion service. We could do with a few more patriots of this kind. Mr. Rutherford has set a good example to those wli oreekon age does not ?ome into consideration when necessity calls. There is a possibility that the Patriotic. Easter is twelve weeks >ll', so there is time to work up a big demonstration. Probably in a few days something definite may be made public.
