A German memorial to the United States defends the deportations, and assorts that 1,200,000 Belgians were employed at the beginning of the war, and that (ISO,OOO, including 160,000 women, 'voro unemployed and declining charity. The Germans only deport those who refuse to work at home, and they are not forced to do military work if they object.
