Ail important scheme connected with the organisation of tin. man powei of New Zealand is among the matters before Cabinet at rhe piesent time. The details of the scheme have not been revealed and possibly have not yet taken definite form. But it is evident to the Ministers, as it is to most other people, '.hat if the Dominion is to maintain the present rate of recruiting (luring the current yeai some organised provision will have to be made for the maintenance of essential industries. TliL applies particularly to the. farming in dustry. The Government is not at all likely to offer any general exemption from military service to farmers and farm workers. But it may make 1 arrangements for the supply of laboy for the farms in some othei directions.
