ACTIVITY OF U46. trawler captured and sunk. Australian Cable Association. Received Jan. S, 5.50 p.m. Madrid, Jan. 7. The U46 captured the trawler Louis in French waters. A prize crew took the trawler to San Oiprian, towing four boats containing the crews of two torpedoed vessels. The prize crew took the trawler to.seaward, sank her, and rejoined the submarine, which then sank a Norwegian ship by gunfire. The T. ffi held three captains prisoners, including -the Aislaby's. Received Jan. 8, 5.15 p.m. London,. Jan. 7. The Danish steamer Ebor was torpedoed, but the crew were landed. The British steamer Allie, 1127 tons, is reported to have been sunk.
ABUSE OF NEUTRAL FLAGS. WHAT GERMANY SHOULD DO. Received Jan. 8, 5.50'~p.m. Amsterdam, Jan. 7. The Hague newspaper Tockoust's Berlin correspondent states that if England continues to abuse neutral flags Germany will declare that, she will no longer respect neutral colors, and will acNise neutrals to refraio from navigating in certain seas, otherwise they will ran the risk- of being torpedoed without warning, regardless of the lives of the crews. FURTHER SINKINGS. London, Jan. 7. The following sinkings are reported: The- Norwegian steamer Older, the Spanish San Leando, and the Danish Nacsborg. Some sailprs of the crews were saved. The Anglo-Saxon Petroleum Company's steamer Murez has been submarined, and some lives lost. MERCHANTMEN TO BE SUNK. London! Jan. 7. German writers professing to express German policy state that British mer-, ehantmen will be regarded as auxiliary cuisers and be sunk without warning. FRENCH STEAMER SHELLED. Madrid, Jan. 7. The French mail steamer Ville d'Havre wirelessed Spanish station's that she was being shelled by a submarine. The messages continued for 23 hours. A Dutch steamer has gone to her assistaiTe.
