PATRIOTIC WORK.
EED CROSS FUND. ® The efforts of the Women'.? Patriotic Committee at the Red Cross Mart on Saturday in raising money for the Red Cioss Fund were highly successful, the sum of £3l being received as the result of sales, collections, and donations. The Mayoress (Mrs. C. H. Bu(gess) had with her an c-nthusiastic bawl of workers, including Mesdames Nc-al, Ewing, Eowden, Jenkins, Misses Fabian, Sole, Warren and Godfrey, Master Allan McKean and two boy scouts. The proceeds of sale of . a horse at the Ilaymarket, £l. were given to the fund, and donations of 10s were received from Messrs ,G. Davy and B. Tippins. Mrs. Burgess wishes to express her best thanks to those who assisted her in connection with Saturday's efforts. SOLDIERS' CLUB. A donation of 10s has been received from the children of the Okni school for the Xew Plymouth Soldiers' Club.
