A German official dispatch states that fic-neral von Mackonsen conquered the sector north-west of Focsani and repulsed strong Russian cavalry attarks westward and Ruiith of Buzaul. Tin. Gcrmiiiio-Bulgars stormed and captured the stubbornly defended) villages 01 Machin and .Tijila and took 1(100 prisoi» or*. This clears the Dobrudja except a narrow strip in the direction of Galatz, where the Russian rear-guard is holding its ground. BATTLE OF SEKETH BEGUN. London, Jan. 4. French military experts are of opinion that a battle of the Sereth lint, ~ow begun, which will determine the issue of the whole campaign.
