The Admiralty reports that the transport VV'erini was submarined in bad weather in the Mediterranean on Monday. Four military officers and 14(i men are missing. The ship's casualties are not known. It is hoped they are light. The surgeon and chjef engineer are missing. LATER DETAILS. received Jan. ii, fl p.m. London, Jan. f>. Later details of the Werna show that 120 soldiers and 33 seamen are missing.
