SURVEYORS' INSTITUTE.

ANNUAL MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, .Tan. 4. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors was held today. The report showed a membership of 202. Thirty-one licensed suveyors are on active service, while 58 cadets had enlisted, eight of whom have been killed. It was expected that good would result from t'he representations made to the Surveyor-General regarding the employment of unlicensed men on survey work. The Council of the Institute felt the time was not opportune to bring about the federation of the New Zealand and Australian Institutes.
