SEASONABLE GREETINGS FROM CANADA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellinatun, Jan. 2. The Governor has received a cablegram from the Governor-General of Canada conveying to the Government and neople of New Zealand correal greetings for the coming year, which he confidently hopes will witness the close of the present war In the final triumph of our cause and the conclusion of a just and lasting peace. He pays a tribute to the valor and heroism of the New Zealand soldiers.

His Excellency has replied on behalf of the Government and people reciprocating the i/>rdial sentiments, and stating with reference to the forces that they highly appreciated their association with the gallant Canadian soldiers in the cause. It k a fact of wrich New Zealand is justly proud. The efforts of the united British nation ana its Allies cannot fail to bring the struggle to a victorious conclusion,
