ELTHAM.
(From Ou. - Own Correspondent.) The visit of the Wangaiiui Garrison Band afforded tlie greatest pleasure to Kltham residents, the concert given on Sunday ?vm>ng being well attended, and at its conclusion the chairman of the Patriotic Committee thanked the band for the'r assistance to a good cause. Mrs. F. Tiasham and Hiss Bamford contributed vocal items that were much "enjoyed. Over £ls was raised for the Wounded Soldier;; Fund. The band also played the old year out and the new year '.; i. Last week Private' H. H. Hornblow, a member of the 22nd Reinforcements, and lately of ihe railway stall", was presented by hi-; fellow employees and others with a wristlet watch ' He also received a safety razor from the choir of the Presbyterian Church. On Saturday tlie retiring postmaster, 'Air. F. W. Ba;nard, was presented by the Kltham post office staff with two eake. dishes and a satchel, numerous expressions of goodwill being sent by the various .postmasters in the district as well as by the secretary of the ment.
