PASTOR ELOPES WITH ORGANIST.

CHASED ACROSS THREE COUXTIKS. (New York Herald). - Savannah. Georgia, Oct. 13. Out of the most efficiently arranged and executed elopements in recent years in (ieorgia resulted in the marriage early tliir morning of the Rev. Ernest Altnian, of tins city, and Miss Ula Mae Majers, of Milltown, near here. They were married at Homerville after as fast a trip across three counties a 9 a high-powered automobile could be induced to make. As the last words of the ceremony were being uttered Mr Majors. the girl's father, who had been opposed to the marriage, but is not now, arrived at the home of the Rev. M. M. Marshall, who united the couple. It was too late, and Mr. Majors, exhilarated by the fastest automobile ride lie ever had, forgave the couple. With parental opposition established by the failure of nil attempt-at elopement a year ago, the young couple had arranged to try again Mr. Altnian had recently been called to the pastorate of the Fourth Baptist Church here .and after extended communication by mail' the young folks agreed that the only chance of eloping was to have Mr. Ait'mau meet Miss Majcrs when she was actually with her father and to begin the flight at once. Circumstances did not favor giving the elopers the slightest start towards a clergyman.

Services were in progress last night, at the Milltown Baptist Chureli when Mr. Altinan, in an automobile owned ami driven by Deputy Sheriff S. W. Elliott, drew iip at the entrance of the little edifice. Msis Majevs is organist there, and persons in the congregation recalled that a hymn nearly was halted lis the sound of an automobile horn was heard. When the services ended Miss Majors walked at her father's side until she reached the sidewalk. Then she ran forward and jumped into the automobile, and away it went. Within three minutes Mr. Majers was in his own automobile, and the chase began. four stops were made by the young couple in their efforts to find a clergyman, and each time they resumed their journey the automobile in pursuit either was seen or heard. Each time Ihey regained lead enough to try another stop when a clergyman's home was reached. Finally, when the last of the list of clergymen considered had been found to be out, the automobile was sent bounding toward Homerville at a . speed which left time for the ceremony' before Mr. Majejs couhl catch up.
