PREVIOUS RECORDS BROKEN" Some idea of the traffic in New "Plytnoutli during the holidays may be gauged from the appended tramway,returns covering that period. Visitors spoke highly of the fMicient service and the modern ears u-ed, and they greatly appreciated the means of transit which the service providfd. On Saturday last (Christmas Eve) 85.10 passengers were carried, paving in tares the sum of ;CtiO 4s 7d. This record was -jelipsed on Boxing Day, when the number of passengers carried , >vas 8373, and the proceeds totalled .tlifi 0? lOd. Since the tram service has heen running the beaches at Xgamotn and E:i!-t End have become increasingly popular. There was no tramway service oil Christmas Day (Monday), the tramway employees being given a holiday. but for the seven days of last week, and for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, 43,852 passengers were carried, and the sum of £31!) 5s 7(1 was taken.
